Anne Katz, PhD, MN, RN, Consulting Associate
Synopsis
Anne Katz has been a nurse since 1983. Her experience is extensive, and ranges from clinical work and nursing research to supervision and lecturing. She began her nursing career at Groote Schuur School of Nursing in Cape Town, South Africa, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Her graduate degrees were earned at University of Manitoba; she completed a Master of Nursing Degree with a community health speciality. She spent five years working at a community health clinic in Winnipeg, and now teaches in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Manitoba, focussing on women's health and family nursing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She maintains a clinical practice in sexuality counselling for women undergoing gynecological surgery. Her research focus is concerned with a variety of women's health issues, including studies of the implementation of midwifery in Manitoba, hospitalization for women with placenta previa, and prenatal HIV screening.
